Nollywood actor and filmmaker Olakunle Fawole has spoken publicly about his failed marriage to actress Yvonne Jegede, revealing that although he no longer has romantic feelings for her but he still respects and values her as the mother of their son.
According to him, he would not hesitate to put himself at risk to ensure her safety if she were ever in danger because of the important role she plays in their son's life.
"I don't love her anymore and I don't have feelings for her, but I respect and honour her because she is the mother of my son. If she is ever in danger, I will risk my life to protect her and make sure she is safe. If she is in trouble, I will step in because she is my son's mother," he said.
Yvonne Jegede and Abounce met on the set of veteran filmmaker Tade Ogidan's popular drama series, Behind the Siege. After dating for several years, they got married in a glamorous ceremony in Lagos in February 2018.
However, the marriage ended less than a year later while Yvonne was still pregnant with their son, Xavier.
Following their separation, Yvonne alleged in a previous interview that her ex-husband had been absent from their son's life. She claimed he had only visited the child once after she gave him an ultimatum and accused him of failing to support or celebrate their son on his birthdays.
